Delete from the App (Recommended)
If you can access the app, the fastest way to delete your account is in-app:

Open your profile
Tap the profile icon in the top-right of the main screen

Tap Delete Account
Scroll to the bottom of the Account screen and tap "Delete Account"

Confirm
Review the confirmation dialog and confirm. Your account and cloud data are removed immediately and you are signed out.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed:
- Any Book Clubs you created (deleted for all members)
- Your membership in any Book Clubs you joined
- Your user record on our servers (profile data tied to your account)
- Your Firebase Authentication account
- Local copies of Book Club shelves on your device
Note:
Your personal (non-club) bookshelves and books remain on your device after account deletion. To remove local data entirely, uninstall the app.
Can't Access the App?
If you've lost access to your device or can't reach the in-app flow, you can request manual deletion:

Submit a request
Open an issue on our GitHub repository with the subject "Account Deletion Request"

Provide your email
Include the Google account email address you used to sign in

We process your request
We will delete your cloud data and Firebase account within 7 days
Signing Out
Signing out from the app (Menu → Sign Out) disconnects your Google account and
clears your local data. However, signing out does not delete your
cloud data or Firebase account. To fully delete your account, please submit a
deletion request as described above.
Guest Users
If you use My Bookshelf without signing in, no data is stored in the cloud.
All your data is local to your device. Simply uninstall the app to remove all data.
